[👀 Eye tracking works best on desktop/laptop 💻] Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Mikolaj Zyga, a self-taught (ish) developer diving into this journey over the past three months. I built Focus Trainer for myself and a few close friends who are just as eager to improve our mental endurance as I am. ✨ A few years ago, I came across “focus training,” a sort of meditation that reminded me of mindfulness practices. The idea was simple but powerful: stay fully focused on a single, boring task for 10-15 minutes each day, and you can build mental endurance. This endurance helps you stay motivated, focused, and less distracted—whether it’s at work 🖥️, in conversations 💬, or just staying present 🧘‍♂️. Originally, I practiced this in my mind by closing my eyes 👁️, visualizing a countdown, and counting down from 50 with each exhale 🌬️—restarting each time I lost focus. Within days, I felt sharper and more clear-headed. But there was one challenge: How do I measure what’s really improving? I felt better, but it was hard to assess progress in specific areas. That’s where the idea for Focus Trainer came from. I track my sleep 🛌, my workouts 🏋️, and my productivity 💼—so why not track my mental endurance too? Focus Trainer uses eye-tracking 👀 to measure your focus and provide feedback. It’s a tool to test and train your focus 🎯, but in the future, I hope it will also help track “well-being” and “feeling in control” through scientific tests and regular questionnaires. I know it’s not the flashiest or most exciting app—it’s intentionally simple. But that’s the point! I launched it here to see if others are interested in this kind of tool. If there’s interest, I’d love to keep building it out! 🎉 Enjoy Focus Trainer for free, and if you have any feedback or ideas, please let me know! You can find me on X 🐦 or send me an email 📧—I’d love to hear from you. X - meeko_why @ - mikolaj.zyga@gmail.com Thanks, and happy focusing!
