I've traveled to 30+ countries and visited countless cities, yet I still find myself burning hours trying to decide why to choose one place over the other. Most notably, on an Italian expedition from Milan last month, I had to choose between Pisa and Venice before continuing south to Florence. Venice is a detour from a North-South route if you know the area. I spent roughly an hour pouring through Airbnb, Skyscanner, Omio, blog posts, TikTok, weather charts, restaurant menus for gin-tonic prices, seafood pasta reviews, and any resource that seemed remotely useful to support my desire for Venice. I'm building FindCity to fuse all my travel tips/hacks and fix this knowledge problem for myself. With FindCity, I'm able to compare two places on earth across multiple facets to ultimately make a decision on "where". It's also an eventual map for future trips and my best buddies looking to walk the same path I did. This is an MVP, with looooots of improvements to come, but you catch the drift. I ended up going to Pisa, and undoubtedly, it had fewer mosquitoes than Milan, as expected. FindCity would help me solve the problem of where and why, and I hope it solves the same problem for you, too. Have you experienced something similar while planning a short or long trip? What would you like to see?

I will use this service for my next travel since it gives me an idea of what to expect. Keep going, FindCity.

Couple of months ago I was deciding on the city that I should go for my exchange during studies! I really had no clue which one to choose and I wish I could use a product like this. Eventually, the city I chose was great but it was pure luck as I did not know anything about it. I can also imagine that I might have picked something else if I had a chance to get an insight and compare places. Congratulations on the launch! :)

Very cool idea, congrats on the launch! I'm an avid traveler myself so I'll definitely be giving this a try! A few things to consider: 1) Before I can even see what the product does I had to onboard, which is somewhat unusual for a website. I'd consider letting people do a few things before you make them onboard so they can understand what is on offer. 2) It's be helpful if you link to the sources for your stats. Some things like "healthcare rate" aren't really intuitive or commonly used, so linking would be helpful. For that one in particular you may want to call it "Healthcare Quality" instead. 3) It'd be nice to be able to compare more than 2 cities at once. Keep on going - I could see this growing into a popular tool!

@adam_fry Thank you so much, this is really detailed. Point 2 is a tad difficult as it's a collation of multiple data points. We will definitely explore providing more context or renaming it. Comparing two cities more than once, now that's a fire request 🔥👏🏼
