Hey everyone! Before the pandemic, I very much enjoyed staying up to date with world news. I'd read and listen to reporters and podcasters across the political spectrum and would chat with co-workers, friends and family about the what was going on in the world. During the pandemic, that changed. The rhetoric used by seemingly everyone on both sides became vitriolic, and for the first time in years I ejected myself from the news cycle. Recently, I decided to check back in and learned that though it had calmed down, it didn't calm down by much. When ChatGPT released, I asked our new AI overlord if there was a solution to this problem, and after some encouragement, it successfully summarized the text as well as completely removed any overly-politicized content, replacing it with the facts! I shared this with some friends, who directed me to Substack. I've been doing this for a month now and this little side project has rekindled my interest in my hobby!
