What do you think? …

Cristiano Paolini
Beautiful indeed. Is there a way to skip to the next video?
Gabriela Catão
@c_paolini That means so much to us! We chose not to display control buttons in order to create a continuous, relaxing experience, as in original Slow TV content. Thank you for your input, it is really valuable for us as we are evolving the product :)
Emerson Laurentino
Beautiful job, I had an idea similar to this at the beginning of the quarantine and I'm happy that someone did it with some increments. Congratulations my friends!
Gabriela Catão
@emersonlaurentino Thanks man :D It's great that we can see more people gravitating towards Slow TV recently. Let's talk more about it anytime!
Cristiano Dalbem
Hello PH 😊 For a few years, I've been in love with the concept of Slow TV, but not doing much about it. 😅 But since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, I started collecting some YouTube channels, and I was shocked with how much amazing stuff was there! So we started sketching ideas for a website that would help highlight all this amazing content, but with a frictionless experience that attempts to fix once and for all the choice paralysis present in so many video streaming platforms these days. This project was co-created with the /r/SlowTV community, where we understood the whys and hows of those users. One of the main requests: an interface that would be calming, "playing to the affective experience of watching Slow TV itself". We crafted a user interface inspired by Scandinavian design, well-known for its minimalism and elegance - and also the birthplace of the original Slow TV show. Those were aired on broadcast TV during days, you couldn't pause or fast-forward - it was "at the speed of life". Under the hood we use a YouTube Embedded Player, so all views and ad revenue goes to the original creators. For the past months we've gone through 2000+ videos, tagging, rating, and filtering over our high-quality standards to air only the best. We want to continue growing the database and improving the website with new features, so please share your candid feedback and ideas with us 😁 For us, Escapista is a heartfelt passion project, and building it brought us much joy in these uncertain times. We deeply hope you feel it too, and share it with your friends that might like it too.
Augusto Pellizzaro
What a wonderful job! I really like the smooths transitions and I think that was a nice touch to a delightful experience, really embracing the concept and giving the content a amazing place to live! Congratulations! I feeling myself traveling around the world!
Cristiano Dalbem
@pellizzaro thank you so much my friends 😊 This project had many hands, minds and hearts, and yours was certainly one of them.
Jake Tran
the app is breathtaking, but why there isn't a pause button lol
Cristiano Dalbem
@jake_tran haha thanks Jake. I guess it might feel a little uncanny, a video streaming without player controls! But we wanted to mimic the watching experience that is so particular of Slow TV, where things happen "at the speed of life". You can pretend as if those videos were being streamed live, and everyone using the website is having the same experience, automatically already synced up :)
Jake Tran
@jake_tran @cmdalbem although, finding live video of people go into the nature and hiking might be a neat idea 👀 . I'm liking it so far, just use the sound button as my pause button for now
Muhammad Tahir
Amazing video collection
Cristiano Dalbem
@iamuhammadtahir thanks! We've been putting lots of hours on that, but it's like they say that if you really like what you're doing it just doesn't feel like work :)
Wilson Bright
Love this! I see the quality of the video is reduced when it is in full screen. Is that an issue?
Cristiano Dalbem
@wilsonbright oh, definitely not intentional! I'll take a look, thanks for reporting 🙏
Cristiano Dalbem
@wilsonbright do you happen to have a 16/9 aspect ratio screen? Because if that's the case I think I found the bug and I just shipped the fix.
Wilson Bright
@wilsonbright @cmdalbem It is solved. thank you so much!
