The idea's great but l think it can work best with AR, VR tech.
Since VR setup is expensive for many customers, building the VR app only would diminish your target audience.
Build both(VR&AR) but start with an AR app. This's what l recommend.
Do you also consider AR/VR staff for your product?

AR is a great fit for this use case, and it’s already on our roadmap. We’re actually exploring and developing AR features alongside the current version.
VR is interesting too, but like you mentioned, AR makes more sense as a starting point due to accessibility.
