DeepSeek is fantastic because it provides strong reasoning and coding support at a very accessible cost.
I use it for coding help, debugging, technical explanations, research, writing, and breaking down complex problems. The deep thinking ability is especially useful when I need step-by-step reasoning for architecture decisions, algorithm ideas, or technical troubleshooting.
What I like most is that DeepSeek can handle complex prompts without feeling too limited, and it gives high-quality responses for both development and research tasks. The free tier and open-source direction also make it very attractive for developers, students, and builders who want powerful AI without heavy subscription costs.

Hi everyone!
DeepSeek Harness already existed as a CLI and web UI. You installed Node, ran:
and worked from the browser.
Now there’s a desktop app for Mac and Windows. Install it, sign in with your DeepSeek account or an API key, and you’re in. Workspaces, plugins, background and scheduled tasks, and the “everything is a plugin” setup all come with it.
You can leave DSH running next to the rest of your apps and use it for files, docs, coding, research, or recurring jobs without starting from the terminal each time.
That makes DSH much easier to use every day!
@deepseek @zaczuo This makes DSH much easier to use without having to switch between tools every time
Having the same plugin system as the CLI in a desktop app sounds useful. Does it support custom plugin too?
Would love to know scheduled tasks behave when the computer is offline. Do they resume automatically?
Was waiting for it, thanks for making the desktop version. Can't wait to test it.

Good to see an official desktop app for the harness, running the same plugin system as the CLI locally is a real convenience. Signing in once and then running scheduled tasks without touching a terminal will save a lot of friction for daily use.
