Finally released today, their blog has some details, but here are the highlights from the announce email: Hi developers, On Wednesday, we announced the official launch of API v2. This means it’s out of preview, and ready for your production apps! The new face of the Dropbox Platform API v2 comes with a lot improvements over the Core API. You can still access all your files, user info, sharing, and team functionality, but with more consistency across the endpoints. For more details, read this blog post, and check out our improved website. New endpoints: Shared folders Along with the new API v2 comes some new functionality: shared folders. These endpoints let your app create shared folders, manage permissions, and invite people to collaborate. You can check out /share_folder, /add_folder_member, and more to see how your app can new take advantage of Dropbox’s sharing experiences. New feature: File IDs Ever lost track of a file in a user’s Dropbox because they moved it, and thus changed the path? With File IDs, you won’t have to worry about that again. This has been a long-standing feature request, and we’re pleased to include it in this launch. See an example with /get_metadata — or use our new API Explorer to try out any of the v2 endpoints. Thanks for being a Dropbox developer, and enjoy API v2! - The Dropbox Platform Team
