Double Tap makes shortcuts effortless. Just double-tap a modifier key to trigger any action—no more twisting your fingers or memorizing complicated combos. Features: - Assign actions to double-taps of any modifier key - Works system-wide or per-app - Fast, simple, and intuitive Perfect for power users, creators, and anyone who wants a smoother workflow A cleaner, smarter way to use shortcuts on macOS.
Pavel Tseluyko

Yeah current shortcut management on Mac is a nightmare!

Clement

@pasha_tseluyko if you start to have a few apps, 💯...

Great app! Could you please explain how it’s different from Karabiner Elements and if it has any advantages compared to it?
Clement

@abogoyavlensky From what I heard it's possible you might achieve the same thing. BUT, Karabiner Elements is doing a lot of things. Which makes everything overwhelming for first users.
Double Tap is is doing just ONE thing. It enables you to double tap a modifier key to trigger a shortcut. Very simple.

I like how this makes everyday shortcuts easier to reach. It removes a bit of friction from small tasks.

Clement

@robin_prime I know, feels like it should be part of the OS honestly

Clement

@robin_prime I'm glad you like

@clement_x Congrats on the launch! Really like how clean and focused each tool feels. One thing I’ve noticed with collections of small utilities like this is that behavior can differ across macOS versions or when download links get out of sync. If you’re planning more cross-version testing or reliability checks, I’ve been working a lot with these edge cases recently and happy to share a few insights. Great job!
Clement

@metse_kgatla Thank you! I really appreciate that. I’m definitely planning to improve cross-version testing, so any insights you’re willing to share would be super helpful.

That's great to get faster on macOS! Which data do you collect/analyze?

Clement

@turtletop I don't collect / analyze any data. Combinations of keys just trigger the action.

Luke Glover
Can they be different for different programmes?
Clement

@luke_glover right now it doesn't support local shortcuts, only global shortcuts. I'm thinking of building another version for that.
