Know where your friends are -- Sort of

Most location apps force an uncomfortable tradeoff: Share nothing, or Share everything—exact coordinates, all the time Dots is built for the middle ground. With Dots, friends can know: You’re visiting Houston You’re in Central Park You’re spending the weekend in SoHo You're at Madison Square Garden

What do you think? …

Jamie Goldstein
I built this app because we are part of a community in Vermont that we visit frequently. Everytime we arrive, we wonder "Who's here now?" These are not people who use SnapMap, and we are not so close that we will share exact location on Find Friends. With Dots you can create a 'place' and invite friends to share location at that place. But then I found out that last weekend I was in NYC and a close friend had also been there. "I wish I had known" Now, you can share your presence whenever you are in the biggest 50 major USA cities. your friends will know you are in, for example, Dallas -- and can know before they arrive or once they arrive. You can even set it to know if you and a friend are within 1 mile of each other anywhere in the world. Great for a spontaneous meetup.
