Hey Product Hunt!
Let's be real - if another app tells you to meditate or drink water, you might lose it. Sure, inbox zero is excellent. But is that the kind of excellence that would make your grandkids proud of you? While other apps help you build a better morning routine or count steps, we're here to help you count victories that actually matter.
I made done.energy because my productivity app graveyard was getting embarrassing and I needed to stop funding Silicon Valley with my optimism. After trying every habit tracker since 2014 (and lying to myself about 'starting fresh' more times than I've reorganized my Notion workspace), I decided to try something different in 2023.
I love this time of the year - I'm brimming with hope and renewed optimism for the new year. It's that time of the year when I can throw the rug (where I've swept all the year's failures) out of the window and pretend it never happened. I'm allowed to dream again. But February would roll around, and that main character energy would've downgraded into background character reality faster than you can say 'I'll try again next year.'
It got me thinking: How can I bring this end-year energy into the new year? And sustain it past January. Enter Done Energy, where your goals turn into a bingo game that can be played with friends.
Think of this as BeReal meets Goodreads challenge, but your friends can call your bluff or build you up. Earn points that matter more than your LinkedIn endorsements, and finally, give your followers something to celebrate instead of another "Day 1" post.
Features built by someone who's downloaded (and abandoned) every productivity app:
- Create, manage, and track the progress of your goals
- Go solo or play with your best friend/partner or in group mode with friends.
- Score points and earn badges
- Play individual boards or collaborative shared boards (e.g., with your best friend or partner)
If you've been meaning to bring some BDE (Big Done Energy) into your life, the time is now. Your screen time report isn't getting better while you doom scroll anyway.
P.S. Yes, I built this after failing my New Year's resolutions. For the 88th consecutive year running.
The sass in this app is chef's kiss. Between the notifications and the copy, it's like having a very judgmental but hilarious friend in your pocket. The squad feature looks promising for my remote team. Hope to see Slack integration soon!
Finally, an app that matches my inner monologue about my goals. The bingo board concept is genius, and turning accountability into a game feels fresh. Minor UX suggestion: make squad invites more prominent.
This app is hilarious. it’s like having a sarcastic friend in your pocket. The notifications and clever wording keep me laughing.
The squad feature looks amazing for my remote team. Can’t wait for the Slack integration!
