What do you think? …

Greg Hamilton
At the start of 2025 I returned to coding an app that I had been working on heavily before the Christmas break. I'd only been away from the code for a few weeks, but I found that I couldn't remember how some key parts of the app worked. I do pretty well at keeping my comments up to date, but there's just no way I have the time to document my apps as I build them. I'm generally a solo dev on my projects and in startup land, they change so fast that maintaining docs just feels impossible. Still.. the lack of docs was frustrating! I found myself thinking... My code editor already does an incredible job analysing my files. But what about my entire codebase? What about documenting the entire project across 2 repos within a single context, and storing the docs somewhere shared, rather than locking them inside my editor? What if I could leverage AI? Is it possible to give AI access to my project's code repositories and automatically generate a cloud documentation site? Is it possible to keep the docs in sync with my codebase? If I can do that then I'll never need to worry about keeping my docs up to date - ever again! 🤯 Well, it turns out you can! After a couple of intense weeks of hacking and working on the technology I had a proof of concept, and now, after 3 months of building, I have a public beta up and running. I've tested the app on my own projects and frequently received answers from my docsite that are even higher quality than I get from my AI code editor (a market leading IDE made by a billion dollar company - it's crazy!). I’m looking for feedback from other projects/devs/teams who are interested in trying DocBlitz out — happy to offer free access for a month. DM or comment if interested!
