As with all of Neil Stephenson's books, the ending is... abrupt. But he makes up for it with a prescient technological backdrop. 3D printing, drones, nano tech and augmented humanity are all explored.

The Diamond Age is awesome. I love how it explores how empowered a kid can be through technology and education. Great story, cool tech, trippy Neal Stephenson stuff...it's stuck with me for a while.
