I’ve lived and studied in both Korea and Canada, and I’ve always loved reading English books and watching English vlogs — not just because they’re fun, but because they help me learn English in the most natural way. When I read or watch something, I’m the kind of person who loves figuring things out and taking notes. Reviewing those notes really helps me remember things better. But over time, I realized this approach was painfully inefficient — I’d spend 20 minutes studying a 10-minute video, or take two months to finish a single chapter. It was frustrating. Without notes, I’d forget everything; with notes, I’d get stuck switching between my laptop, the Longman Dictionary website, and my notebook (or my Notion page). Sometimes my notes were too brief or messy, and I couldn’t even recall what they meant later. That’s why I built DexSpeak. It lets me instantly get the contextual English definition of any word, save that exact meaning and sentence to my personal corpus, and review it later. Every time I use a new word I’ve learned through DexSpeak in real life, I feel genuinely proud — and the memory sticks much more deeply.
