Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Alena, the maker of Dear Loved One. The idea for this product didn’t come from a brainstorm—it came from a hospital room. While I was in kidney failure, spending long stretches in the hospital, I had a lot of time alone with my thoughts. What stayed with me wasn’t fear of machines or diagnoses—it was the weight of all the things I hadn’t said yet. Messages I meant to write. Words I assumed I’d “get to later.” Dear Loved One grew out of that realization. It’s a quiet space to write messages, letters, and memories for the people you love—delivered when they matter most. No social feed. No performance. Just intentional words, written privately, on your terms. Building this taught me restraint. I didn’t want to create something dramatic or invasive, especially around vulnerable moments. Every decision—privacy, tone, delivery—was shaped by what I wish I’d had during that time: something gentle, respectful, and safe. This is an early launch, and I’m here to learn. If you have feedback, concerns, or ideas—especially around trust, privacy, or emotional safety—I’d truly appreciate hearing them. Thank you for taking a moment to look 🤍

I appreciate how Dear Loved One focuses on creating meaningful, personal expression rather than just generic greetings, giving users a space to articulate deep feelings and lasting memories feels genuinely thoughtful and powerful.

@ngocphuc_1910 Thank you. It was build from my own experience as a parent , as a granddaughter who calls her grandma just to hear her voice after she passed away and as my own mentor sending myself messages on new year or Friday 13 . instead of having wall of journals and trying to safe and digitalize photos. Even though we have so much social media and ai and all so many of us lonely and not sure how to share those important notes or grandma recipe or just little letter to random email saying You can do it. We are working on Adding QR codes and able to provide gift giving options :). so far it is just me working on it every night and researching :) Due to that your comment means a lot to me . Thank you
