I could never find text using ctrl+f because it just gave a single color highlight, impossible to find on many pages. I finally made the solution I wanted. There were a couple extensions doing similar, but not quite what I wanted. My extension helps you find text with an EXTREME flashing highlight. Exactly what you need when finding the text is crucial. Planning to add a few more features. Let me know your thoughts!
