Every week the CPSC issues new recalls for hazardous and sometimes deadly consumer products that often go unnoticed. Leaving harmful products in homes and refunds or free-replacements left unclaimed. CrateOS helps you discover your product recalls.

👋 Hello ProductHunt Community, my name is Cesar. I'm a solo founder/indie hacker and father of 3 amazing kids that are my entire world. Let me tell you a short story about how I started down this journey.
🚎 The Bus Ride One morning as I rode a bus downtown for work, I stumbled across a weeks-old news article about air conditioners that had been recalled for risk of catching fire. The very same brand and model that I owned and used daily in my children's room during summer. I’ll never forget the feeling of guilt and panic that came over me as I frantically tried to figure out if my unit was at risk. In the end my unit wasn't part of the recall but I'll never forget that feeling. I also wondered had I not been on a bus and drove instead would I ever have found the article?
💔 The Unfortunate Reality Unfortunately, for many families, their story doesn't always work out like mine did and their stories are truly heartbreaking. I apologize in advance, but it is difficult to grasp the severity of product recalls without seeing stories like the following. You may want to skip this next part...
💔 Parents who won't get to see their babies grow up for unknowingly using a sleeper that had already been recalled. [1, 2, 3]
💔 Strollers injuring or even amputating children's fingertips.[1, 2]
💔 Dehumidifiers catching fire and causing millions of dollars in property damage. [1, 2, 3]
I searched for existing solutions but was left disappointed and the more people I talked to about recalls, one thing became very clear; People are just too busy to dedicate themselves to the time-consuming research required to find, verify and then try and hunt down a refund or replacement. It also doesn't help that the process can be complicated, confusing, and existing tools are inadequate.
So I decided to do something about it...
