Hello 👋 I'm Alex. I live nomadically with my partner and we have been using Airbnb a lot to find places to live. We made spreadsheets to rate and compare the places - do we like the location, has it got a kitchen, is it work friendly? We ask these questions - among a ton of others. Making spreadsheets sucks. 🤮 So I decided to do better! I am on a mission to help myself and others spend time better, and I have now quit my job to chase this. So far, I have built compairbnb and www.everyhour.xyz and will continue!

@acgoff this is super helpful! But could you restrict your extension's permissions to just the needed sites (I presume airbnb.com?)

@rrhoover This is exactly it! We shouldn't be wasting our time this way! Airbnb really should work on this. They have solved the search phase and ignored the selection phase!

Looks easy to use and quite helpful if you don't like making tables manually. I personally enjoy it, but it's true it really is time-consuming. What are all the features you can actually compare with compairbnb? Congrats on the launch, and best of luck for what's to come!

@rubenwolff The first time making a table is fun, the fifth isn't and I'm loving remotely so am regularly making those tables! At the moment only total cost, rating, images and WiFi. Then you can add your custom rows for anything else. What were you imagining?

Does your "total cost" take taxes, cleaning, fees, and other non sticker price components into account? I've stopped using AirBnB because the last few times I wasted time researching until realizing that the listed price can be misleading by 30% or more once you add all the fees from the final booking screen...

@mattmg83 yeah this is annoying airbnb drives me mad with. @airbnb do better please! None of us should need to get a chrome extension to do this! Compairbnb will only show you total cost.

This is really cool and definitely a time saver. I agree, it's way too easy to spend a lot of time on Airbnb. I am wondering if you could take this one step further because finding the places to add to the list would still take a lot of time. What if you could generate a top 5-10 chart based on ratings and comments while also using parameters, such as location, price, vacation time. Then someone could come to your site and have a chart of the 5-10 best places to stay in that area, in their price range and in their vacation time. I think that may reduce the time even more. Just a thought. Great product though. I will definitely use it next time I am looking for an Airbnb vacation.
