Hi Product Hunt! Before creating CodePier, deploying my applications was a long and tedious process. I decided it was time to create a better method. I wanted to streamline my process and build an app that I enjoyed and wanted to use. One year later, CodePier was born! Now, I spend the majority of time time adding features and making CodePier better. I’m even able to use CodePier to deploy itself with new updates! (You should have seen my face the first time that worked!) Let me know if you have any questions. I’m excited to introduce it to you all, and show you how you can streamline your deployment processes!

Hey @lukepolo_ & @dmfj, Can you tell us more about what you've built here?
Luke Policinski

@dmfj @jacqvon Sure! Its a SaaS product that helps you deploy your applications on your own servers. You tell us what language and framework you want to deploy and any necessary features that you need for your app. Then our service can provision a server with your requirements, then deploy your application easily. There is a bunch of other features we could talk about such as free Wildcard SSL Certificates, free database backups, 1 click install applications, and server monitoring just to name a few.

What inspired you to build this? Any other services, etc.?

@taylorotwell - Hey! I'm a full stack developer, but I have been the one to handle the DevOps for most of the companies that I have worked for. I waned to build a tool where I could build and monitor all of my servers, but still be able to focus on my main development work. CodePier is something I use on a daily basis to monitor my server stats, backup my databases and quickly view all of the events happening in my system. I did gain inspiration from you (Laravel Forge and Envoyer) as well as Heroku / Cloud 66 and others. But added upon these ideas with my own to provide the tools that I needed to succeed. Thanks for checking out our ProductHunt!

Different from deploybot and similar?
Luke Policinski
Luke PolicinskiMaker@lukepolo_ · LukePOLO
@mirmayne Similar, but without all the server setup, also deploybot seems to be missing the pre-defined deployment setup and some other nice features CodePier has to offer (i could list them if you wish in another reply). But was looking at their guide : https://deploybot.com/guides/dep..., and seems there are some additional steps you still need to setup to get everything running properly. With CodePier you can setup a laravel site less than 10 mins from start to finish. We provision the server with all necessary software (which can be customized). We then can determine their deployments steps based on a standard laravel instance, again can be customize easily with drag and drop, all without ever sshing into the server. Let me know if that helps!
