Hey Ben! Good job building Christian Tech Jobs. More and more folks seek meaning and want to use their work to serve their faith.
What do you think are the biggest challenges one can face when coming from working for a "traditional" organization?

Appreciate it @gregoiregilbert! And thanks again for hunting CTJ!
Great question though. There are two things that I've noticed that I think could be challenges when moving from a "traditional" organization to a faith-based one.
1. The vibe/culture at work might be notably different
2. You might have to get creative with your resources
In terms of workplace culture, when moving to a company with Christian values you may find that there is often an emphasis placed on mission beyond profit, which can influence project priorities and goals. In addition, many Christian companies include faith practices into their work culture (TruPlay Games posts some of my favorite examples of this), so I could see something like praying before a team meeting or project launch being a new experience to someone coming from a traditional workplace.
To the second point, while there are certainly some big players in the space that are going to be able to compete with traditional tech teams, many faith-based organizations (especially non-profits) often operate with tighter budgets compared to traditional tech companies. While this may limit some of the tooling or software you have access to, these constraints can also lead to culture of creativity and innovation when it comes to solving problems.
Overall, you will still be asked to work just as hard, be just as creative, and contribute just as openly as you would at a traditional company. So if you are someone that is adaptable and aligns with the values of the company you're transitioning to, then I think the challenges will be quite manageable!

I am grateful for @campak connecting me with you months ago and introducing me to Christian Tech Jobs. I couldn't believe my eyes on how many job opportunities there is within the Christian space. I also didn't know about the Faith Tech industry at the time until I came across CTJ. It has been amazing to see how this platform has grown not only in listings but the development of it.
As I was recently laid off and also being a devoted follower of Christ, Christian Tech Jobs has helped me with my job search as well. Glad to be apart of the journey Ben!

The feeling is definitely mutual, @ixoyedesignstudio! Being a part of the codeFellowship community and being able to surround myself with likeminded devs has definitely been a blessing for me as well!
I'm stoked to have had you along for the ride from the beginning, and I'm always glad to hear that CTJ has been helping you with your job search!

Hey y'all ๐
My name is Ben and this is my first time ever launching on Product Hunt. Shout out to Greg for hunting it for me!
I built Christian Tech Jobs towards the end of 2023 out of a need I was running into for myself. With all of the layoffs happening last year, as well as personally diving deeper into my Christian faith, I started contemplating on the type of company I would want to work for if I were to get caught in the crosshairs of a layoff. As a software developer, I was curious about what type of tech roles Christian companies were hiring for.
To my surprise, there were no sites or directories that focused on this demographic and it was actually very difficult and time consuming to find these types of roles for someone unfamiliar with the industry.
Most orgs on LinkedIn and Indeed that are labelled "Religious" are almost exclusively churches (which is great) but it didn't make for very straightforward process to find many of the companies that also service this niche.
Lastly, when looking at many of the existing Christian job boards I felt like they did not do a great job at highlighting tech opportunities, opting to highlight some of the more traditional, Church-specific roles instead.
So after a ton of researching and compiling companies on my own, I decided to build Christian Tech Jobs.
Currently, it is free to use and free to post a job for employers, while also having a few additional paid add ons if you want to improve the reach of your post.
Working on this has been a great experience, and I definitely feel like God has kept me in the game at times when I've felt discouraged or wanted to move on from the project.
I've also met a number of great, mission minded folks along the way that have helped me immensely and without whom I wouldn't have been able to make it this far. Big shout out to @gregoiregilbert@campak@ixoyedesignstudio and everyone else that's been along for the ride.
With all that being said, I hope y'all enjoy the site and God bless!

Hey Ben, love the idea behind Christian Tech Jobs! Quick question: Do you plan on adding more categories besides tech roles in the future? I'm curious if this could expand to other industries too. Thanks for building this!

Thank you @davidcarter!
We actually do currently host some non-tech roles like customer support, human resources, finance, and more! We even have a `non-tech` category for things that don't seem to fit anywhere else.
While the main focus is definitely tech related jobs, I'm pretty flexible on what roles can be posted as long as the company posting the job is tech-centric.
Great concept, @christian_tech_jobs! It's clear that thereโs a growing demand for roles that align values with vocation. But I'm curious, what are some specific skills or experiences that you think can help bridge the gap for those transitioning from a traditional organization to a faith-based environment? Also, how do you see the culture in these companies differing from more conventional tech workplaces? Are there any unique KPIs or metrics that faith-based organizations prioritize? Would love to hear your thoughts!
