What do you think? …

Johan Steneros
Been thinking about picking up chess again. I'm giving this a go.

@jsteneros if you need any help getting started feel free to reach out
Johan Steneros
@luka_bracanovic I think the UI was a bit confusing when doing some of the lessons. Not really sure how it works.
Luka Bracanovic
@jsteneros hey, would you be willing to schedule a call? I'd really love to see what issues you have and work on them, it really means a lot. I can arrange a free practice with a coach for extra effort.
Johan Steneros
@luka_bracanovic Would love to help out, but I'm just very busy lately. What I can do is check it out again and give you a better explanation of some of the UX issues I saw. Happy to do so if you provide me with an email.
Luka Bracanovic
@jsteneros Sure, send feedback to chesstent@gmail.com

What a service I've been waiting for! 6000+ games in chess.com - 80% percentile in 10/10. This is what I posted to my LinkedIn recently. I'm in! === My immigration story - I was 15 when I came to the states. - When I first came, the summer vacation just started. So I stayed home the entire summer. No friends. No internet. - The only two 'toys' I had were (1) a bicycle and (2) a computer without internet. - The computer had only one game - chess. Staying home all day long, I played chess against the computer for 5 hours a day. At the end of the summer, I became quite good at it but didn't even realize I was good. - The school started. I stopped by a poster on the wall that says 'Join the chess club. Every Thursday after school'. - I barely spoke English but joined the club anyway thinking that I probably wouldn't have to speak English playing chess. - Everyone in the chess club was friends with each other. Eating pizzas and sodas, they were talking, laughing... just having a lot of fun. I was a loner sitting in the corner. - The first match was against a top 10 in the school. Playing against a boy coming from a far-east asia country a few months ago, the opponent knew he could beat me in 10 moves. The game started. I won. - It must have been a fluke, right? I played the next opponent. Another top 10. I won. Again. Suddenly, people looked at me and started asking me a bunch of questions. I couldn't understand what they were asking. Just smiling. - The school chess tournement started. I won, won, and won. At this point, everyone in the chess club started respecting me. - The final match was against the president of the chess club. Down-to-earth guy. Very nice. - I was winning. In the end, it was my king+knight+rook against his lone king. Then, a stalemate. A stalemate is basically a winner making a dumb move resulting in a draw. At that time, I didn't know a stalemate is a draw. I thought a stalemate is still a win. - The next match was in a month. At that point, I already made a few friends having fun at school outside the chess. I quickly lost interest in chess. The president practiced hard as if his legacy is on the line. - After a month, it was no match. I lost. Point blank. - After several years, here I go again. With 6000+ games under my belt, I decided to use my chess skills for something else. - You beat me in chess. You get $660 in Ceeya discount. That's basically 1-year worth of the highest premium offering with our manual, in-video or in-person consulting to grow your solopreneur/creator/freelancer business. Anyone who went thru this program made thousands of dollars. It works. - We will only offer 10. - So what do I gain in return? If you lose, make a social post either on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter about Ceeya. That's all I ask. - If you don't know how to play chess, you can also bring in your friend. The coupon can be transferred from your friend to you. - Let's be reasonable though. For example, don't ask a top 100 chess player in the world to fill in your seat. Let's be fair to each other.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 How many of you have asked professionals for help when it comes to working out, learning a new language, or playing guitar? Whether it's just a tip or a complex program that you get it's always beneficial to learn with experienced professionals. Chess Tent is here to encourage people to learn chess with others and to provide the means to do so in various ways. It's been a few months since the platform went public and I'd appreciate all the feedback. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cool for chess lovers. Do you guys provide or plan to let users play online against AI/another player and organize competitions? Congrats btw.!
Luka Bracanovic
@pax93fcb the plan is to support playing vs other users in a training room or as an exercise to play vs AI/engine. You can do it already to some extent. For now, we aren't planning to focus on providing features for playing random people, there are other platforms such as lichess.org that can be used for that.
Paxshal
@luka_bracanovic Make complete sense. Good luck!
