Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm very happy to share with you the hardware project, which helps drivers make their interaction with Android Auto convenient while using Wireless technology. 😔 The problem Nowadays, there are a lot of cars that only support a wired Android Auto connection, and to get a wireless connection drivers have to replace head units, which is expensive. Or they have to buy a new car (not all new cars support it) which is even more expensive. The Carsifi adapter solves this problem and allows drivers to connect to Android Auto wirelessly without expensive charges. 🚘 How it works? Carsifi is a plug-and-play adapter/dongle, which gives your Android Auto head unit wireless functionality. It’s very easy to use and works on all cars and head units that support wired Android Auto. Just connect the adapter to the car via USB, pair the adapter with a phone via Bluetooth, and enjoy Wireless Android Auto. You only need to go through this process once. Carsifi will connect to the phone automatically thereafter. 👨🏻‍💻 How it started? The idea of creating an adapter arose, as usual, in a traffic jam on the way to work: "Why can't I use Android Auto wirelessly?” We began by wanting to solve this problem for ourselves, and now we want to share our solution worldwide. 😷 COVID impact We already have a ready-to-use Carsifi adapter that has already been sold and used by multiple owners. But due to the global chip shortage, the price of some board components which we used in the first version went up between 3 and 10 times, and the production cost became very high. We received great feedback about the first version, and such positive feedback encouraged us to develop another version of the Carsifi adapter that is much smaller, more ergonomic, has high-quality case material, and additional functionality. ✅ We went through an interesting path during development that was impacted by various external factors (COVID-19, chip shortage, etc.), but we are satisfied with the result.
