Holy shit, the PH app just turned my reply into my main comment so... yeah... uh... essentially I said that I was very disheartened by the consolidation of industries and nearly all aspects of our lives into big companies and that I’m saddened that the era of two kids in s garage is ending. @duarteosrm that’s my hope! Decentralization of industries is my big bet. I’m really excited to see the product of companies here and even Vice itself, though I doubt they themselves will succeed: https://motherboard.vice.com/en_...
I give it 8 months and Google will shut this down.

Intriguing but super restricted beta so not really relevant to 99% of the people on here… When I feel the ground shake or a loud noise I often try to find out on Twitter if there's other people who are also wondering what that was and/or if anyone has an answer. But it's not always easy to find the right information in the noise since Twitter doesn't really tie-in directly with location and there's a lot more going on. Plus it's often hard to find out what events etc are going on around you. It'd be interesting to see where this Bulletin app goes, but I wonder how they plan on retaining users enough to build a reliable network of people. I imagine they'll have something similar to the Local Guides on Google Maps, incentivizing people for posting good content.
