Hi, I'm Lucas, an indie iOS developer from Taiwan. My previous app "Focus Tomato" was featured as App of the Day by Apple. I built BudgetCal because I cook at home a lot and wanted to track calories — but no barcodes, no labels, hard to log. I looked at AI calorie apps, but they all require subscriptions. I already pay for ChatGPT and Claude — I didn't want another subscription just to estimate calories. Then I thought: why not just use the AI I already subscribe to? So I built this simple logging tool. Use your existing AI subscription to estimate nutrition, paste it back, done. No subscription, no extra cost. Hope it helps others with the same problem! Demo:
