AppSumo Briefcase is a curated subscription bundle of premium software to help founders grow their business.
I am an AppSumo customer for almost 2 years and love it so much because of their great bargaining skills, customer support and ability to provide us great SaaS tools at highly affordable rates.Pros:
All the included SaaS tools are of premium quality and highly useful and available at highly affordable subscription fee.Cons:
Nothing as such
With Briefcase you get to pick and choose the tools you need to run your business - some you use daily. This is especially huge when there are products you don't use everyday but are nice to have in your arsenal of tools for when you do need them.Pros:
Access to a suite of tools to get your business growing bundled into a single low monthly price.Cons:
Single sign-on from Briefcase to access all apps from dashboard (coming soon though!)
Great concept that really helps me out by providing me with a full suite of professional software to help me with my startups, existing businesses and consultancy at $49 a month. The suite is growing every couple of weeks and some of the software added is awesome. There are of course a few products that have failed to perform (IE: No updates/lack of community) but this is 1 -2 out a suite approaching 40+ apps. Great to see the additional pricing tiers for when my business grows as well as building confidence this awesome suite will be around for the longhaul. It truely is a great asset to have. Eventually it would be cool to have some kind of pick and mix system to customize to our individual needs (IE: not everyone needs graphics or financial projection.Pros:
Quality of Apps/Cost/Contantly Adding New Apps/CommunityCons:
Sometimes Their copy is not very clear.
I realized that I could save more money than buying multiple deals every month.
However, what made me pull the trigger, it was the fact that I had access to some past deals, like Airstory.Pros:
Awesome price for getting access to multiple toolsCons:
I've been an AppSumo user since 2015, the year I launched my startup. Since then, I've purchased numerous deals on the platform.
I owe a BIG thanks to Noah Kagan and the whole team at AppSumo for helping me secure lifetime access to a plethora of wonderful tools that have been instrumental in growing my business and blog.
So when AppSumo announced that they were launching a solution like Briefcase (they called it 'Netflix for software' at the time), I knew I had to subscribe to it because I just couldn't afford to spend $100 each month on individual deals at AppSumo. 🙂
I did just that and it's the smartest decision I've made. I don't mind paying the recurring fee of $49 because of all the nifty tools I get to use. And FYI - Most of these tools individually would cost you at least $25-50/month on their own.
So here's my two cents' worth on Briefcase:
(I've published a long, in-depth review of Briefcase on my blog 99signals. So if you're interested to learn more about Briefcase, click here.)
There are currently 35+ tools in Briefcase. To be frank, I use just 10 of them quite frequently: Brain.fm, Promo Republic, CloudApp, pCloud, Grum, Planable, WebTextTool, Poplink, Rocketium, and FindThatLead.
I'd like to use the rest of the tools more, but I just don't have the time or bandwidth right now. But it's nice to know I can access them anytime I want.
In the end, it all boils down to one key question: Is it worth paying $49 a month for Briefcase?
The short answer is yes.
If you were to subscribe to each of these tools, majority of which follow a subscription-based model, you’d easily be paying over thousand dollars a month.
In the end, it’s all about saving cost and getting the maximum efficiency out of some of the best business tools available in the market.
Even if you were to use just 10 of these tools (like I do) in a given month, you’d still be saving up a considerable amount of money.
If you think you’re at risk of losing some of the unused tools by the end of the month, AppSumo has a solution for that. You just need to activate the tool from the Briefcase dashboard before the month ends.
That way you’ll make sure you always have access to the tool even if Briefcase discontinues the tool in the future.
Each tool in Briefcase has been carefully selected and vetted by the AppSumo team. Rather than spending $25-50/month on one tool, you can pay $49/month through Briefcase and enjoy lifetime access to some of the best and most unique business tools in the market.Pros:
Access to 35+ awesome business tools for just $49/mo. Perfect solution for entrepreneurs & bloggers who are looking to scale up!Cons:
I check Briefcase every week to find more awesome deals that Noah and his team are magically able to get and put on the site.Pros:
Great collection of really awesome tools - at unbelievable pricesCons:
Need more tools. Have shared some suggestions with their team
Give it a whirl guaranteed you won't be disappointed. I'm a new business and I'm really glad I found out about this early on. Saves me so much on many of the applications I would normally have to pay monthly for that would far pass it's monthly fee that I'm locked in at.Pros:
Powerful software of 30+ applications to run your businesses.Cons:
AppSumo is amazing! Don’t know how they do it but yes, briefcase is worth it many many times overPros:
You save thousands of dollars every month and still get the best software & tools in briefcas. It is amazing service!Cons:
The tools and software are so good you may try out all of them and lose productivity by not using the best ones for your core business.
I'm loving the convenience of one subscription to cover my business needs. No more worry about what payments are due and when. Briefcase also helps me discover apps that I would otherwise never have known on my own. Definitely saving me time and money.Pros:
Amazing value. Saves a ton of $$$. Super convenient.Cons:
You get everything you need to run your business for a really low monthly fee that included apps that cover a lot of your needs, going from designing and SEO to billing and project management.
The redemption process is fast and simple, and the support and community behind it i great!
Lots of apps for a really good monthly priceCons:
nothing, unless you hate savign money and investing in a smart way
I've been using Briefcase for a few months now and I love it. I'm an avid longtime AppSumo customer with 85 products. Normally with AppSumo I'm checking the site every week or so to scope out any deals for software. I'm usually looking for that new tool that can either help me run my business more efficiently or cut down on costs. With the products I've acquired from AppSumo in the past and now with Briefcase for a single monthly fee for access to lifetime memberships it has really cut down on the costs to start a business effectively by lowering that barrier to entry. Highly recommend!Pros:
Ridiculous Deals, Lifetime membershipsCons:
Mr.🐺 💗 s You!Pros:
The most cost-effective unfair advantage I've ever seen (I'm a ex-Google, 10+ year serial entrepreneur; this is not an exaggeration). -Mr.🐺Cons:
To Add: Automatic Account Registration (e.g. "log in via Briefcase" across all current and future deals)
When you have customers, you need products that work well but also last a long time because your business depends on those products. Appsumo doesn't guarantee any of that and you end up losing customers and part of your businessPros:
very useful applications for any businessCons:
Appsumo no longer requires its developers to run the software well and for a long time. 0 responsibility, 0 refunds. Last example: OpenVoyce
