"Why do I have to upload this confidential screenshot to a random server just to make it smaller?" That was the frustration that started this project yesterday. I realized that with modern browser capabilities, we don't actually need cloud servers to compress JPEGs and PNGs anymore—our computers are powerful enough to do it instantly in the browser. So I spent my Sunday building Boa Compress 🐍. It’s a simple, privacy-first tool that compresses images entirely on your device (Client-Side). I also wrapped it into plugins for Figma and Framer so designers can optimize assets without breaking their flow. Quick stats for the nerds: • Tech: Native Canvas API + Blob compression • Security: 0 external requests (blocked via manifest) • Cost: $0 (because there are no server bills!) I'd love to know if you prefer the Web version or the Plugins. Let me know what you think! 🚀
