As a developer and product designer, I built Avacado.today to solve a common but deeply overlooked problem: making gift-giving and celebrating others truly personal, joyful, and organized. So many people struggle to communicate what they want—or to guess what someone else might love—especially across different life events like birthdays, weddings, or baby showers. I wanted to create a platform where anyone, anywhere, could create a beautiful wishlist that reflects their personality and needs, in just a few clicks. What makes Avacado.today unique is the simplicity of the user experience, the playful and emotional design, and how we've tied in meaningful categories with delightful visuals—each wishlist type is represented by a lively animated avocado character, making it more than just a list—it's a joyful invitation to celebrate together. Unlike other wishlist tools that are often generic, e-commerce-focused, or overly technical, Avacado.today is personal, expressive, and universal. There's no need to register, it's mobile-friendly, free to use, and designed to be shared easily. It’s also privacy-aware, allowing users to choose whether their lists are public or private. What I’m most proud of is that people genuinely smile when they use it. The animations, the color palette, the user flow—they all serve one goal: to make celebrations and connections feel more human, fun, and stress-free. Seeing users from different cultures and age groups enjoy it and share it with their loved ones has been incredibly rewarding.
