Automatisch

We're very excited to announce Automatisch to PH community! Automatisch is a workflow automation tool that lets you connect different web services like Slack, Github, Twitter, and more to automate your business processes. For example, you can build automation that gets all new tweets, including the "open source" phrase, and post them to the Slack channel you specified. You can adjust the services and steps depending on what you actually need to automate in your business. If you're familiar with Zapier, you can also think of it as an open-source alternative to Zapier. Even though some existing cloud solutions do the job well enough, we still wanted to build an open-source and self-hosted alternative to those. Because it allows you to store your data on your own servers, which is essential for businesses that handle sensitive user information and cannot risk sharing it with external cloud services. This is especially relevant for industries such as healthcare and finance, as well as for European companies that must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I do love Zapier, but I'm so glad to see a solid alternative enter the market!

A self-hostable alternative to Zapier is an excellent idea. Data security is the most important thing nowadays. If I host my tool, why should I use hosted one? The latest LastPass and other leaks showed that hosted solutions are not secure as we thought.

It's great to see that we have finally announced Automatisch to the PH community. @farukaydin already explained our motivation regarding why we built an open-source Zapier alternative, so I want to mention some technical aspects of Automatisch. For the backend part, we use Node.js (Express) together with PostgreSQL, Redis, and GraphQL. For the front end, we use React application along with Material UI. We have spent a lot of time improving the developer experience, especially in building new integrations.
