Rafflecopter, a competitor in this space wrote an interesting blog post here: http://blog.rafflecopter.com/201... about Amazon's move.
It's interesting that Amazon isn't allowing contests to be embedded into sites, as most contests I see online seem to be bloggers trying to drive additional traffic.

@erin_alexa_ Thanks for the article shout-out. After waiting a few days, I don't see this as a product that will receive much traction unless there are some major changes made to it. Judging by their twitter account (https://twitter.com/amazongiveaway) I don't see this as a product they're really passionate about either.
Like Dan said, it seems like it should be a smart move considering where they have advantages (fulfillment, giveaway terms), but the execution of the product is as good as their giveaway page :/

Smart move by Amazon -- and they're the only ones who can make it this easy to choose, pay for, and ship a huge range of prizes.
I know Amazon isn't known for their design, but their giveaway page is pretty atrocious.
You can look at the #AmazonGiveaway hashtag on Twitter to see examples of how people are using it (and enter to win!)
