Hi everyone 👋, Founder here. Excited to be sharing Allma with you today! We're opening early access to our Slack-native incident collaboration tool and would be great to get feedback from the PH community. Thank you! Allma is building next generation alerting, incident response, and service cataloging, natively in Slack. We built Allma because of our experience navigating incidents as software engineers, infra, customer-facing team members and everything in between! Cue our team at various co's running around 🏃🏾‍♀️ investigating recent deploys, communicating to customers 💬, combing through logs... 📊, The entire company is involved in incidents, and we need a better way to mitigate and resolve them together. Allma is a tool that brings the whole company together to resolve incidents faster and communicate easier. Allma 🔌 plugs directly into your existing tooling and incident process and is pre-loaded with configurable, incident guidance from 300+ Engineering leaders 🤓. Allma makes it clear who's doing what during an incident, and keeps everyone up-to-date with status updates from beginning to resolution. Product highlights — ∕∕ Engage and interact via slash commands from anywhere within Slack. 🗒 Effortlessly view active and prior incidents and jump into the action. 🛠 Integrates with your alerting tools to bring paging into Slack: see all your alerts, declare them as incidents, and page team members into existing incidents. 💥 Declare a new incident anywhere in Slack. ✅ Built in role management. Severity levels, checklists, incident guidance— all customizable. Built with learnings from 300+ Engineering leaders. 💬 Automated status updates keep the right people informed across your Slack workspace. No more having to field constant, "what's the status?" questions. ⏳ Generate timelines straight from Slack. Export to your post-incident review tool of choice. Excited to try this out. Running an effective incident is a challenge, to say the least. What’s a an example incident that helps make for a great “magic moment” with the tool? In other words, does the tool really shine if you’ve got some major failure that’s showing up in DataDog, or does it really shine even if you’re just tracking down some product issue impacting customers, etc.
Pete Cheslock
@weston_jossey Hey Weston, we see the full range of incidents from minor bugs to full blow major sev 1's and 0's. We have customers who use Allma to coordinate debugging a problem while Allma posts timeline updates to customer success and leadership (avoiding the constant “any updates” drop ins). And certainly customers turn to us for the critical “site is down” issue, all the way to multi-day longer running customer facing issues. Hope this helps!
