Alike Health

Hello everyone. I am Amnon Bar-Lev, co-founder and CEO of Alike.Health. After finding out that only 30 percent of prescribed medications provided for diseases are appropriate for their target patients, I was intrigued to learn more and realized that this is only part of the real need to move from population to personalized healthcare solutions. I learned that patient similarity network models are a strong, impactful solution to this paradigm shift. With this knowledge, my team and I created Alike, a free app that combines medical data with socio-demographic data to match users to other users in its system based on “alikeness” - comorbidities, gender, BMI, age, and more. Connecting with “Alikes” enables users to develop meaningful relationships with others who share the same, often life-changing, journey. Whether it's managing stress and anxiety, congenital diseases, or other health ailments, users can share their medical experiences and health tips and gain personalized insights from each other that help to manage not only the burden of disease but the disease progression itself. I have dedicated my career to cyber-security and technology and take privacy and safety measures very seriously. Alike offers top-of-the-line de-identification measures, verification, data encryption, data fuzzing, device security and penetration testing to ensure that all of Alike’s users and their information are protected. I have relatives with health concerns and different medications and diagnoses having been passed around continuously. Having groups on Facebook to try and join together people tackling illnesses can do a lot to join together people in experience and solidarity, but there are still holes in fully joining together these people. Having apps like this serves a specific purpose and empowers people to get answers. Great work guys!
