Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the maker of AfterWatch. The idea for this came from a moment of pure guilt, I was rotting on my sofa, binge watching shows, and realized I couldn't even remember what I watched the day before. I felt like I was consuming content just to forget it. I wanted a simple way to track that journey. Not for likes, not for social clout, but just for me. I wanted to remember if a movie was a "Must Watch" or a "Waste of Time" without navigating complex social apps. I built this as a PWA (Progressive Web App) because I wanted it to be lightning-fast (and honestly, building native apps for both iOS and Android is daunting!). The result is something I'm really proud of: Zero Friction: No downloads. Just sign in and log. 100% Private: Your guilty pleasures stay between you and the screen. Vibe Checks: Simple rating (1-10) + feeling tags. I’d love to hear what you think. Is this simple enough for your daily use? Let me know in the comments!

@kiya_em Congrats on your launch! I tried it out and it's a super simple app to use, nice work! Where are you pulling all the movie posters from?

@peterclaridge Thank you! 🥹
Yes, making the journaling process quick and easy was the main goal. I really hope people who love productivity or documenting their habits can try it and feel the benefits. 🤞

All the posters and metadata are pulled from the TMDB (The Movie Database) API, they are a lifesaver for indie devs. 😇

Private watch log is kinda refreshing tbh. Letterboxd got too social for me. How’re you pulling in titles… manual search or TMDB/IMDb? Also curious if the PWA works well offline on flights

@amitpsharma Hey Amit! Glad the 'private' aspect resonates,that was exactly why I built it.

  1. Data: I’m pulling titles via TMDB (The Movie Database), so the library is huge.

  2. Offline: The app shell loads offline so you can view the UI, but full offline support (adding/editing while on a flight) is on my roadmap for the future update.

Let me know if you give it a spin!
