Actors waste 6+ hours reading plays to find one monologue. ActorRise finds the perfect piece in under 20 seconds using AI search across the world's largest database (8,600+ monologues vs competitors' 1,100). Just describe what you need: 'funny piece for woman in 20s about family drama.' or even type in a quote "To be or not to be" ActorRise will find your monologue. Built by a working actor who got tired of wasting time on libraries, old books and tiny databases.. Free tier available.

Hey Product Hunt!
As a software engineer AND working actor with Inferno Theater, I built ActorRise because I was tired of limited databases and wasted time.
The problem: Backstage has ~1,100 monologues. Other platforms max at 800. Actors waste hours searching.
The solution:
8,600+ monologues (4-8x larger than any competitor)
First AI semantic search for theater
Natural language: 'dramatic piece about loss, 2 minutes, not overdone'
Built by an actor, for actors
The AI understands context and emotion, not just keywords. No more filter hell or settling for overdone pieces because that's all that's available.
Free tier available - would love your feedback! What features should I build next?
@canberkv This is such a niche! A close friend of mine is building smart subtitle tech for theaters, so I’ve had a glimpse into how much tradition + inefficiency still exists in this space. The “8,600+ monologues + semantic search” angle feels genuinely useful, especially for actors preparing under time pressure.
Are you thinking about expanding this beyond monologues? Maybe scene partner matching, audition prep tools, or even emotional tone analysis for rehearsal?
@tereza_hurtovaThanks!
Yeah the theater world moves slow on tech stuff.
Actually building scene partner functionality right no. I should be launching soon! Your friend's work sounds interesting too, always curious what other people are building in this space.
@canberkv
Congrats on the launch! 🚀 As someone who appreciates clean and snappy search tools, ActorRise looks very promising. The interface is intuitive, and the cards provide exactly the metadata an actor needs at a glance.
I noticed a small UI friction point that might be an easy win for your next update:
On the /profile (https://www.actorrise.com/profile) page, specifically in the "Basic Information" section, the dropdown items appear as light grey on a white background. Since the rest of the app follows a sleek dark theme, this makes the text nearly invisible and difficult to read, breaking the dark-mode immersion.
Aligning these dropdown styles with the main search filters would make the onboarding/profile completion flow feel much more polished!
The "Audition Mode" sounds like a killer feature once it's fully implemented. Great job so far, the product is really solid. Already upvoted!.
@giorgio_cignitti_phd Thanks so much for the detailed feedback and the upvote!
You're absolutely right about the dropdown styling on the profile page - that's a quick fix that would make a huge difference. The dark theme consistency is something I definitely want to nail.
Really appreciate you taking the time to actually test the profile flow. Those kinds of specific UI notes are gold for making the experience smoother.
Audition Mode is going to be fun when it's ready! thinking rapid-fire search for last-minute audition prep.
Thanks again!
Hi. Upvoted your project. Interesting niche - a focused monologue search engine. Some notes: a clean value prop and honest pricing, but critically lacks social proof, testimonials, and urgency mechanisms that would convert skeptical first-time visitors. I think your homepage can be improved to close psychological gaps. I can help if you want.
@daniilsokolov Thanks so much for the feedback! you're right about the psychological gaps. I would love to hear your ideas. Really appreciate it. I can dm through X or email or whichever.
