Hey Product Hunt! I’m Andrew, co-founder of Parafile. We started out building this for law firms to handle all those annoying, non-billable admin tasks (think document organization, project management, data entry) and all the other necessary but repetitive & manual stuff that eats up time. As we worked on automating document organization, we realized the pain isn’t just in legal. Tons of folks across different industries deal with a mess of documents piling up especially in their download folder. That’s why we built Parafile: just download/drop your files into a folder, and our AI will read the doc, figure out what it is, extract the key info you care about (like client name, date, project, etc.), rename it according to your rules, and put it in the right subfolder automatically. You set up your own categories, variables, and naming patterns, and Parafile does the rest. We wanted something flexible, so you don’t have to change how you work. Just tell Parafile your rules once and let it do the grunt work. For quick setup, I have created a few templates you could start using right away in parafile/config_templates Make sure to use your own OPENAI_API_KEY in .env file! Right now, it is more developer-friendly, since it can only run through the terminal, but we are working on making the next version more user-friendly and more inclusive for more people.
