X continues to be a fascinating place for radical experiments at the intersection of AI and community. Their new AI Note Writer API is the latest example.
The idea is that developers can now build AI agents to propose Community Notes on misleading content, but humans are still in charge of rating what's helpful enough to be shown. This creates a powerful feedback loop.
This raises some big questions that don't have clear answers yet. Where is that subtle line for AI-generated content to coexist with a human community? What's the right balance in process, content density, and quality for people to accept it?
But regardless of our initial feelings, we may have to accept a new reality sooner or later: when we're using apps built with vibe coding, consuming AI-generated multimodal content, and discussing our life decisions with AI — perhaps we'll care less if it's from a human, and care more about whether it's good enough.
