Hey Product Hunt! I’m Balint, an indie author, publisher and solo founder from Hungary. 10 years ago I founded a small indie publisher in Hungary with the aim of translating classical liberal and free market econ works in Hungary. For a decade, I manually translated books -grinding through weeks of work with minimal returns, as indie publishing rarely pays well (or any, especially as I made all books available for free). Then I discovered DeepL, which was a godsend, but the quality still wasn't up to par. I could translate a whole book with it and it gave me a mediocre first draft. It was littered with errors but it still saved me a ton of time. But I kept wondering how much the process could be automated with modern LLMs. So I built my own solution: BookTranslate.ai. It’s a multi-pass AI translation system using the latest LLM models. It translates and then proofreads long-form texts paragraph-by-paragraph, enforces glossary consistency, and iteratively refines each pass. The result is a translation that’s ~98% ready to publish - you just give it a light final proofread. I’ve already used it to translate a number of books to and from English, including a lost free market classic, The Tariff Superstition by Marcel Kadosa that got favorable reviewes and nobody could tell it was completely AI. I only needed to change a few words in the final draft. So what started as a tool for my solo publishing house became something I realized others need too. If you're an author, editor, or publisher - or just curious - I'd love your thoughts. Try it free: https://booktranslate.ai AMA!

Love this - translating books and stories shouldn’t be a massive barrier for small authors. Congrats on the launch. We're building in the automation space with Mukh.1, where AI agents reduce manual work across teams. Check it out.
