Hi everyone! 👋 I'm the maker of WizWhisp — I built this app because while there are many cloud-based speech-to-text services out there, I wanted a simple, privacy-friendly way to run OpenAI’s Whisper locally on Windows 10/11. Whisper is powerful and free to use, but setting it up on Windows usually requires command-line tools or Python knowledge. There wasn’t a clean, beginner-friendly GUI client for Windows — so I made one. With WizWhisp, you can: Drop in audio or video files (MP3, MP4, WAV, etc.) Transcribe them locally using Whisper Choose between Tiny, Base, or Large v3 Turbo models No API keys, no internet, no cloud 📌 A quick heads-up on hardware: The Tiny and Base models run fine on most modern PCs. But if you're trying the Large model, especially with longer files, you’ll get the best experience on a machine with a decent GPU (GeForce RTX 3060 or higher recommended). You can always start small and see how it goes! The Tiny and Base models are free to use. If you want higher accuracy with the Large model, there's a one-time upgrade option.
