I’m Ihor, co-creator of AskTube.Ai - a tool that helps you interact with YouTube videos and get the answers you actually need, in your language.🌍
Why we built it:
Like many people, we often found ourselves scrubbing through long tutorials, lectures, or interviews just to find a single answer. It was frustrating - especially when we didn’t even know which part of the video to trust.
We tried using AI tools to help, but ran into the same problem over and over again:
If the interface was simple, the functionality was way too basic.
If it had advanced tools, the UI was overwhelming and confusing.
We wanted something that just works, no learning curve, no fluff - while still being powerful enough to do more than just summarize.

I love the concept. Does AskTube natively support videos in languages other than English or does it depend on YouTube's auto-captions for those?
@larry_lar Hey Larry, we’re glad to hear that! The video language and the language of the transcript does not matter. The main idea here is that the video can be in any language, you can write a prompt in a different language and choose the output to be in one of our 13 languages(later we’ll add even more), that way you are in control of the response language.
Amazing concept. Can users select different tones for the summaries, like casual, technical, or bullet-point style?

As for the different tones, at the moment, there’s no dedicated option for selecting summary tone, but we’re definitely considering adding it if there’s enough interest.
For now, you can simply request your preferred format in the input. For example, you can ask, “Summarize in bullet points” or “Explain in a more technical tone,” and the model will adjust accordingly.
How does it deal with misinformation or controversial topics?
Is there any effort to reduce bias when summarizing or answering user questions?

AskTube.Ai relies on OpenAI models, which already include mechanisms to reduce bias and handle sensitive or controversial topics with nuance. That said, no system is perfect.
That’s why we’re currently working on a separate fact-checking project designed to better detect misinformation and improve accuracy. It will be available both as a standalone tool and integrated into AskTube.Ai.

This tool sounds incredibly useful but how do you make sure it doesn’t misinterpret sarcasm, jokes or visual only content like charts and diagrams in videos?

AskTube.Ai uses advanced OpenAI models trained on vast amounts of data to recognize context, tone, and even sarcasm or humor more effectively.
I tried it out on a 40-minute tutorial, and the summary was spot on.
