Premiere Pro 25.2 adds AI! Use Generative Extend to lengthen clips, AI Media Intelligence to search footage, plus auto caption translation & improved color.
Hi everyone!
Adobe just dropped a significant update for Premiere Pro (v25.2), and the big news is the infusion of powerful AI features!
Two standouts really caught my eye:
✨ Generative Extend (Firefly AI): Need a few extra frames to perfect an edit, hold a reaction, or cover a transition? This AI tool seamlessly adds frames to the start or end of your clips. No more running out of media!
🧠 Media Intelligence & Search Panel: Finding the right shot just got way easier. You can search your footage using natural language – describing visuals, spoken words, or even metadata. The AI analyzes your clips to find matches.
Beyond the headline AI features, there are other useful updates:
🌐 Auto Caption Translation: Translate captions automatically within Premiere Pro.
🎨 Improved Color Management: Easier handling of RAW/log media and multi-format exports.
🎬 Better MKV Support: Improved compatibility and performance for MKV files.
🎙️Credentials & Dynamic Waveforms: Added Content Credentials support and dynamic audio waveforms.
This update feels like a major step in making complex editing tasks faster and more intuitive with AI assistance, right within Premiere Pro.
This is kind of scary (I mean how AI has the potential to do everything for us).
BUT I dare to say that the video is the most difficult to replace.
Now, it can make the shots longer in terms of duration but that part is not very dynamic and seems to be like replicating the existing footage in a cutaway shot. (I normally solve this by cutting the last part of the clip and slowing it down, so the shot is also longer.)
