Hey guys, name's Murrali, friends call me Moolah and I reside in Singapore (the unofficial Uniqlo capital). Being a Hindu, outside of India, can be challenging in its' own ways. With the smallest of inconveniences, most of us end up losing touch with what would essentially be an important aspect to our ancestral ties. Migrating to another country, be it temporarily or in search of a better life, should not be a hinderance to keeping in touch with our culture or practicing our faith. Amongst the wealth of knowledge that has been accrued over the millennia, we all have benefited from the teachings deriving via Hinduism in one way or another. From yoga, mindfulness, meditation, all the way to traditional medicine (ayurvedic), it is hard to deny that the oldest religion does have its merits to this very day. Hindus, always possessed a peculiar interest in astronomy. Energy as we know it exists from the smallest particle all the way to planets far wide in the galaxy. With their study, they invented a form of Astronomy, commonly known as Jyotish or Vedic Astrology, loosely referred to as the "Science of Light". Though it is not widely perceived as science, the fact that they did complex math just by observing light in the universe, without any sophisticated machinery or electronics, since about 5000BCE is a marvel on its own. I guess there has to be another term for that level of study other than calling it Science. Jyotish, based on the sidereal zodiac, considers the actual positions (in degrees) of the stars and planets, unlike Western astrology which uses the tropical zodiac tied to the seasons. Taking the exact planetary positions in relation to your birth location, essentially makes an almost entirely unique-to-you, fingerprint-level of uniqueness to you serving as a form of address within the universe. Commonly referred to as the birth chart of an individual. Studying the planets as they move, in relation to your birth chart positions, and the different effects of the types of energies emitted by these planets, is how it differs from other Astrology methods. Calling it a science, can be a stretch for some. That is totally acceptable. But, personally, it feels almost a shame to let it be gate-kept or wither away from those without ease of access to some practitioners. The current astrology sites, are great at what they do. However, the demographic they have built those platforms for, seem more favoured towards people who already know what Jyotish is all about. Whatever little exposure I grew up with, was from friends who referred me to their personal astrologers, or the temple priests who do that as a side hustle. The accessibility was just too cumbersome for such an interesting topic. Being on this side of the planet, I have often caught myself not knowing basic things such as my Raasi (vedic zodiac) and Nakshatra (birth star), which is essential when performing prayers in any Hindu temple in the form of archanas/pujas. The monk or priest, chants mantras towards the deity, and it is chanted together with your name, raasi and nakshatra, that uniquely identifies you for your prayers to be answered for you. From having to pick a modern yet auspicious name for my new born, to reading my birth charts and see what it says about me and my destiny, as well as reading my daily astrology on days I catch myself in a rut, having an A.I assistant to perk me up and give that added confidence, has greatly helped me to be within reach of some of my traditional customs. Almost like a conversation with our ancestors and sages who studied the skies and made it an art form relevant to this day. Astronomy might not be for everyone, we understand. But, if you are someone struggling to understand or adapt with some of your cultural practices, this might be a great suite of tools for you. Even if you are not, we all could do with some hope every now and then. For someone or something to tell us "it's all okay, it's only going to get better with time". SvahaMe.ai calculates your planetary positions independently, and only forwards those planetary positions to the A.I for an interpretation. All other personal information is stored in a secure DB (totally separate) without any access to/from the A.I. We are hoping to make these tools accessible to everyone, and also make Vedic Astrology, Jyotish, a little bit more palatable for a wider-audience, without diving too much deeper into the abyss. It is such a massive topic, and I would never claim to be an expert, much less a beginner at this. But if it means more people get exposed to Vedic Astrology and start exploring theirs, it will be a win for the culture as a whole. I am not trying to replace human vedic astrologers in any shape or form. I am merely trying to introduce the rest of the world to the beauty of Jyotish, which should open up a larger target audience for actual Vedic Astrologers to offer their services to. Thank you for the support. There are some grand plans for this product, and promise it is not going to be just an A.I astrologer/wrapper.
