2G is a sampler that looks and sounds like an early-2000s handheld devices. We imagined what Neural Synthesis would have been like back then. Describe a sound and 2G makes it. Then edit it and play it from your computer keyboard, or load your own audio instead. 2G is free for Windows and macOS, as a plugin or a standalone app, and starts you with 20 credits for generating sounds. Studio ($10/month, 7-day trial) gives you 200 credits a month.

four voices and a little speaker that rings is a very specific kind of limitation lol
being able to load your own audio makes that interesting beyond the first generated sound
@saad_el_gueddari Thanks! The limitation is intentional; four voices and a small speaker give the instrument its character. And agreed, loading your own audio is where it gets interesting: anything you bring in takes on that same voice.
Hi PH, we’re Scrap Brain Audio. We’re mostly curious whether the idea behind 2G holds up.
Most music software keeps getting cleaner and more capable. We went the other way on purpose: a low sample rate, a speaker that compresses and rings, only four voices. Would you want limits like that in the tools you use, or do they get in the way once the novelty wears off?
Four voices puts a real limit on how crowded a part can get. I can see that giving the sampler its own character even after the retro look stops being new.
@oleksii_sekundant Agreed. The voice limit changes how you write parts more than the look does, so I'd expect that to matter longer. 🙂↕️
That's what nostalgia means...
