Most of my day now is a terminal full of agents. It gets a lot done, but it's a lonely way to work, and I missed having a team around.

Crewloft starts with one desk in an apartment. You hire people one at a time, and who you pick matters, because everyone has a personality and opinions about everyone else. Seat two friends side by side and the mood picks up.

In one playtest, Mia reviewed Noah's work and sent it back. He sulked for a bit, then came over to talk. I told him to go ask her what she was looking for, and now they're friends.

You can also just play with them. Ping-pong where you time every swing, or a proper game of 301 darts where you aim every throw. A round with someone who's had a bad day does more than any pep talk.

A happier team earns more, and you spend it on them. A bookshelf for the bookworm, an extra room, and eventually a move to Manhattan or Shibuya.

They also do real work, by the way. Give the studio a goal and they plan it in a meeting and get it done on your machine. The drama stays out of that part. Nobody wants a grumpy agent near rm -rf.
