I left consulting this summer and started job hunting the way everyone does: find a role, spend an hour tailoring the resume, hit submit, repeat. Two things kept going wrong. The good roles already had a pile of applicants by the time I saw them, and every AI resume tool I tried solved the tailoring problem by inventing things I hadn't done.

1. Find roles early. Every morning it looks for roles posted in the last day that fit your background and ranks them.

2. Never make things up. Every bullet in a tailored resume has to cite a numbered line from your own profile. A check runs after the draft: any bullet that doesn't cite real lines, or uses a number that isn't in those lines, gets held until you keep it or cut it. You see the cited lines for each bullet.

It never applies for you. A Chrome extension fills the standard fields and you click submit.
