Tidy is an open-source design tool and agentic development environment (ADE). The desktop app combines an editable canvas with coding agents that work in your local project.
Sync your local projects to the Tidy web app to enable multiplayer with your team. From there you can also design directly in the cloud with our MCP.
This is the 2nd launch from Tidy . View more

Introducing Tidy Desktop. An open source, local first design canvas and agentic development environment (ADE) in one platform. Run coding agents in your local projects, create and refine interfaces on the canvas, then attach a design to a coding thread to build it. Made for designers and engineers who want to move from an idea to working code in the same workspace. Sync to the Tidy web app in the cloud to collaborate with your teammates and enable multiplayer with the MCP.

Hey Product Hunt! Sean here, I've been building Tidy alongside my brother Tadhg for the past month.
Tidy started out as a fun side project, taking inspiration from Figma and Paper to build a canvas that agents can interact with via MCP. I've always loved open source so I thought it could be fun to build out in the open!
The more we built and shipped, the more our goals for the product changed. We had both moved to t3code and away from tmux, terminal emulators etc. We were now using an agentic development environment and the UX improvement for moving fast with agents was apparent.
Product, engineering and design roles are now merging. We believe people will still have their domain of focus, but that designers will continue to ship more code, and engineers will be expected to ship quality designs by default. We can no longer wait on design to ship to production.
Tidy desktop is our answer to that problem. We've created an environment where engineers can experiment with design first. Gather feedback and collaborate, while shipping fast. It's also an environment where designers can work and ship hand in hand.
We are very early and we have big plans and lot's to do. We'd love to have you try it out and share your feedback (or even better, get on board and start shipping some PRs as a contributor 😄).
Let us know what you think!
