Greenhouse accepts a resume up to 100 MB but won't parse anything over 2.5 MB. A heavy PDF uploads fine, then reaches the recruiter as an empty record. Nothing warns you.
Quiet failures like that are why I built ATSPrep. We launched the checker here in July. Since then it has become a full resume studio.
What it does:
- Shows the text a parser pulls out of your resume, so jumbled columns and lost contact details are visible
- Puts a note on each weak line saying what's missing
- Matches each requirement in a job post to the line that proves it, and flags the ones nothing covers
- Rewrites with AI using only your facts. If a line needs a number, it asks for yours
- Runs a short mock interview out loud with Pip, then scores it
- Tracks your applications, and drafts cover and resignation letters
Two choices made on purpose. Your resume file is read in your browser, never uploaded. And it's free to check and edit with no account; a free account (Google or email) saves your work and downloads it.
