Launching today
Google Playground is an experimental AI gaming platform that lets anyone create, play, and share custom games without coding. Describe your idea, choose a genre, and let AI build a playable game in minutes. Change the rules, characters, physics, or visuals simply by chatting. Share your creation with friends, publish it to the community gallery, or explore games made by others. Powered by Google's Gemini, Nano Banana, and Lyria models.

This is fun. My partner creates tabletop games, and there's one that I think deserves to be digital! This might be good for a trial.
I feel game night is totally changed after this. Now its not about playing games anymore, game night is now about making games 😸
the "change the physics by chatting" part is what gets me, that's the hard half of this. generating a playable game from a description once is impressive but a solved problem at this point, letting someone mutate the rules mid-build without the thing falling apart or losing what you already liked about it is the actual product. curious whether edits are additive on top of a save state or whether a big enough change just regenerates the game fresh and you lose your progress
