Open-source voice notes that file your tasks and reminders

You think of things while walking or driving, record a voice note, and never play it again. Voice Memo does the listening. It pulls out the tasks, decisions, questions and reminders, files them into the right project, and updates the old ones when you change your mind. Reminders ring like an alarm, and Claude can answer questions about your notes. Open source and MIT. You run your own copy on Cloudflare's free tier, so it costs $0 a month and your notes are stored in your own account.

@hussaintrawadi privacy and data control would be the biggest reason for me to self host it especially for client work
Voice Memo
Got it, @shivam_kushwaha16. That's the one trade-off I made on purpose. The fully private route is running the models on your own machine, so transcription and analysis happen on your own hardware instead of an outside AI provider. I went with free cloud APIs because I didn't want my memos to depend on my laptop being switched on. Local models aren't built in yet, but the AI layer is a small set of swappable providers, so pointing it at models on your own machine is a straightforward change.

to answer the question you asked at the end: people. I'll mention "talked to Sarah about the pricing deck, need to follow up next week" in a memo and that's a relationship thread, not just a task, it has history that matters beyond the one follow-up. right now that probably gets filed under whatever project I was talking about, with the person's name buried in the text. a lightweight per-person view that pulls every memo mentioning someone would turn this into something closer to a personal CRM, which is a much bigger reason to keep using it daily than task extraction alone. also appreciate that you wrote out the privacy tradeoff (audio going to Groq/Workers AI) instead of just saying "self-hosted" and leaving people to assume it's fully local.

Thanks @galdayan, this is a sharp one. The names aren't buried actually. Every memo already pulls out the people in it and links them to each thought, and each project page shows who comes up in it.
What's missing is exactly what you described: one page per person that pulls every memo across all projects. The data is already there, so it's a small step from here. For now, searching "Sarah" or asking Claude what you said about her gets you closest.
And thanks for noticing the privacy note. I'd rather people know exactly what leaves their account.
