Most AI tools make you screenshot, switch to a chat tab, upload, and switch back. Squint cuts that to one step: press a hotkey, drag a box over anything on your screen, and ask. The answer appears right beside what you selected, and you can ask follow-ups. Fast mode usually starts answering in 1-2 seconds; Best mode gives deeper answers. I wonder how well it handles small complicated screenshots .That's where these tools can get tricky.

@dennis_porter That's a fair concern. I've tested fairly dense screenshots with solid results on the Fast model, and the Best model handles just about everything. If you happen to try Squint and find one that trips it up, I'd love to see it!

the 1-2 second fast mode is the actual pitch here, not the drag-a-box UI - every competitor already did screenshot-and-ask, the friction was always the tab switch plus the wait. curious about the no-Mac part though, was that a Rust screen-capture API limitation on macOS specifically, or just a sequencing choice (Windows/Linux first, Mac later)? asking because most of the "read what's on my screen" crowd I see posting here is on Mac.

@galdayan Fair point, it may be better to lean harder on speed in the marketing. macOS was originally further down the roadmap, but it's now my top priority.
I like that the answer appears right next to the selected area. It makes the whole workflow feel more natural.
