IDEAgent is a PyCharm AI coding agent you host yourself. Retrieval and context assembly run on your own machine, you choose the model — fully local with Ollama or your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google keys — and the plugin and gateway send no product-usage telemetry back to the vendor. Optional gateway redaction can filter detected secrets out of tool and terminal output.

I started building this after Augment Code discontinued their JetBrains plugin — I didn't want to lose AI-assisted coding in my IDE, and I didn't want to hand a codebase to a black-box cloud service either. So IDEAgent is fully self-hosted: you run the containers, you hold the keys, nothing phones home. Happy to answer anything about the architecture, the MCP tooling setup, or how the Anthropic/OpenAI/Google and Ollama switch works under the hood. No telemetry required, as if you have problems you can open an issue on GitHub.
