Background in customer care, troubleshooting, and product design. Started learning Python out of a privacy decision — wanted local control over my robot vacuums (Valetudo) instead of cloud dependency. That led to building the MQTT Vacuum Camera project for Home Assistant, and to leading its community of contributors. I later used AI coding agents to move faster, but got uneasy not knowing the data-handling terms behind them, so I built my own: first an MCP server, then a RAG-based context engine, initially on Ollama. When Augment Code discontinued its single-user JetBrains plugin, that groundwork became IDEAgent — a fully self-hosted AI coding assistant. Privacy advocate, Home Assistant sustainer, lifelong troubleshooter.
