Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Basil, one of the developers behind Ollie. My team built this because we were stuck between two bad options: an AI that forgets everything the moment you close the tab, or automation tools that go do things without ever asking first. Every day looked the same tab-hopping between Gmail, Slack, and QuickBooks, copy-pasting context into ChatGPT, then doing the actual work anyway. The AI could talk about your inbox. It just couldn't touch it. So, we built Ollie to actually live inside those tools that read your email, check your books, message your team and take real action, while always showing you what it's about to do first, not acting behind your back. It remembers what matters to you across conversations instead of starting from zero every time. And it runs locally on your own machine, not someone else's server, so your inbox and your financials stay yours. Hey everyone starting this thread as an open space for anything Ollie-related: how a connector works, why we made a certain call (like running everything locally instead of in the cloud), what's still missing, or just general feedback after trying it out.

A few things people tend to ask, to save you a search:

How's this different from just using ChatGPT with plugins? Ollie connects directly to Gmail, Outlook, Slack, QuickBooks and many more via MCP and can actually take action (send an email, draft a reply, pull real numbers) - always showing you what it's about to do before it does it.
Where does my data go? Nowhere but your own machine. Ollie runs as a desktop app with a local database - no cloud sync of your inbox or financials.
What's next? More connectors, and continued work on making the memory smarter the longer you use it.
